Question was last time you was sent off

by Hullablue (no login)

rather than just saying, 'earlier this season against Runcorn' he went on about the ref being conned. It the 60 second interview, they alwasy ask what was your last goal, sending off etc, he just decided to carry on whinging!

Football is bad for my health

by Hullablue (no login)

I smoke far too much as Boro make me sweat it for a 3-2 away win. How can a side play awful, but win through a sidefooted cvolley into top corner, and superb shot fromteh half way line and a stupidly given away but genuine penalty, that was taken twice. If there are any qualified refs out ther (I am one, but not doen a frefresher for years) should a scored penalty be order to be retaken for any reason apaprt from a, ball not being on spot, or b, the player stopping during his run up? We had a pen retaken cos of encroucemnet, but i thought that did not matter unless the ball rebounded out?

Alright lads,

Im sure you're all as nervous as we are at the minute and always thinking what is the southport latest (or for us, the droylsden latest)

So, if anynody wants to exchange mobile numbers so that we can keep up-to-date information passing through that would be excellent..

If anybody is interested you can E-Mail on the above address or send me a PM on the Southport forum (www.portchat.net) and my username is Seano on that.

Look forward to hearing for anybody...PLEASE!

MOTD not non-league related

by BpoolAlty (Login BpoolAlty)

just thought i'd share what i posted on my site few mins back.

did anyone see MOTD on the bbc tonight ?
Highly amusing.

schoolboys fighting because his mate wouldn't give him the ball and then getting their school shirts ripped, then the headmaster sent them off the playground, oh dear.

but even more worrying was Gary Lineker discussing Stuart Pearce, Quote;

'I've felt him from behind on several occasions'

mmmmm interesting.

from runcorn and altrincham websites !

Joint Statement by Altrincham and Runcorn Football Clubs

After lengthy discussions over the last few weeks, we are delighted to announce that two of the biggest names in non-league football history are to merge.

At the end of this season, Altrincham FC and Runcorn FC Halton will merge to form a new club that will play in the Conference North next season. The new club will be known as "Altrincham & Runcorn FC", as we are keen to keep the names of both clubs.

Home games will be played at Moss Lane, Altrincham whilst a new "super stadium" is built in Runcorn. This is expected to be complete by the start of the 2008/09 season, at which point home games will be switched to Runcorn.

We understand that supporters may be initially against the move. However fans of both clubs are very forward looking as the formation of the two Supporters Trusts' show. We have to look at the bigger picture and this merger makes sense both financially and commercially.

In the current climate, we believe that it makes sense for clubs to merge, and we will not be the last. We think others in the league will also go down this route, such as Nuneaton and Hinckley, and Ashton and Stalybridge.

A further statement outlining more details will be released later today

I've heard from a very good source

by Jezza (no login)

The new merged side will play at Witton's Wincham park, devolping it into a 15,000 capacity super non league stadium / leisure facility which would dwarf the neighbouring VS.

Witton plan to merge with Northwich which would then create two super Cheshire...the merged Runcorn/Alty and Nantwich Town.

Runcorn fans first move will be to boycott matches, Alty fans first move will be to boo and hound Barry Jones out of the county.

It depends on wether Runcorn stay up this year though as the Alty trust site says..www.star4alty.com

Runcorns new signings

by runcornio (no login)

from the runcorn website...

Soley Brings In Three On Deadline Day

Transfer deadline day has brought three new players to Runcorn in Alessandro Percovich, Jason Van Blerk and Michael McGinn.

Alessandro is the first Italian player to sign for the Linnets and will be pushing to make the goalkeeping jersey his own for next season. Alessandro's previous club was Italian outfit AC Tiano, who play in the Provinciale Di Calcio league

Jason brings a host of football experience having played over 250 football league games for Millwall, Man City, West Brom, Stockport, Hull, Shrewsbury and Macclesfield. A solid central defender who will be a great asset for Runcorn, he has also received 27 Australia caps, scoring one goal.

Midfielder Michael has signed from local Sunday League side Vision Chasers, and is the brother of current left sided midfielder Matty McGinn. He will no doubt be pushing to break into the first team in the remaining games of the season.

Transfer deadline - Major Hinckley signings

by (no login)

Peter Glazier and Don Mclean have been signed to play on the left and right wing respectively, they will also be in possesion of their window cleaning ladder, so to compensate for possible head trauma in midfield, Hinckley have also signed the extras from 'Time Bandits'. I can also exclusively reveal that Bernie Clifton plus ostrich has signed to play in goal until the end of the season, and in a desperate final bid to reach play offs Hinckley have also replaced the front two with Mr Claypole and Dobbin the pantomime horse. We were all set to sign Nadia Poppov but she sneezed before putting pen to paper.
