Response to Welcome to Cold Filter

Thanks for the responses. Funny how Finance Department goes into a
formal, polite mode when he responds to me. Says, 'It is not
"arrogant" of me to tell cryonics providers exactly what quality of
service I expect, before I sign on with one of their companies.' I
agree, that's very reasonable, although I would have thought the first
step would be to visit a cryonics organization. Have you done that?

His refusal to answer my questions does not make sense to me. It would
not compromise your anonymity to say if you have an MBA, if you are an
accountant, and if you have any experience running a business. So how
about it? You want other people to be up-front, and you want them to
be qualified. How is it that you are exempt from your own demands? I
appreciate that you are "in business" but that could mean anything.

I thank Bill for his pleasant message, he sounds very sincere.

Re Platt on character assassination, I was not indulging in character
assassination. I am just looking at what people have written here,
trying to show you how it looks. I am drawing conclusions from WHAT
YOU WRITE. Most of Cold Filter is like watching a TV reality show, or
Jerry Springer. People are acting out, and it seems a bit fake, very
entertaining--but is that what you want, to be like the Springer show?

Regarding old books by CP, anyone can find them on Amazon. I could add
that you seem to have written serious stuff too. But you told everyone
about that. And you have not answered my question, why do you keep
popping up here like a target?

From MM, a polite response. Unfortunately politeness only goes so far.
Let's see the points of mine you ignored in your msg. You're as bad as
Finance Department, except for the fact that you have a real name.

You won't say where you were trained or when you graduated. Why not?
Was it a school that is not very highly regarded?

You won't give any details about your past perfusion work. Maybe you
don't think the name of the place sounds good, or you are afraid that
people you worked with would say bad things about you. Those are the
only reasons I can think of. Is there another?

I wouldn't care where you worked or what your qualifications are, if
it wasn't for the way you seem to use those qualifications against
other people.

Even if you do have good perfusionist credentials, you don't deal with
my question about why you have authority to tell people how to run
cryonics cases, when you haven't ever worked on one. Most people in
medicine never give advice outside their specialty. Why should you
feel entitled?

Do you have a master's degree incidentally? Do you have a nursing
degree? Are you a paramedic? YOu seem to want to talk about other
people's qualifications, so let's talk about yours!

You claim you are just concerned about protecting (cryonics) patients.
How is it going to protect them to make endless petulant comments that
Platt was paid more than you, years ago? What does it matter? YOu make
it all sound like just a personal grudge, and so emotional.

One of your posts was headed something like "I just can't STAND it
anymore." This is the way a woman might begin a conversation on the
phone with one of her girl friends if she's complaining about her
husband. It is not the way a professional person should debate people
where you want to be taken seriously.

Now, I am not saying you are the only one. You are just the one who
seems to post most and has the most temper tantrums, but there are
others. You mentioned Harris, so I Googled him and found he has quite
a history. Here's something he posted on an AIDS forum: "Now I'm
calling you an asshole. And a dickhead. You and your libel lawyer
can go over those words . . . Perhaps he'll note to you that accusing
me of malpractise [sic] in public actually is actionable, whereas my
calling you a son of a bitch is not. And why. It'll be quite
educational for you. Prick." Nice to know the cryo crowd is not just
arrogant and bad mannered here, they are the same everywhere! But,
Harris was posting to an unmoderated list.

This gets me back to my last point again. No one including our
esteemed moderator address the most basic point, which is that this
discussion list is supposed to be moderated. And don't you care how it
makes you all look? Arguing about patio furniture! Professional,
ROTFL.
