"Ms. Pancake suggested I was getting my information from the "blogosphere". I said I'm talking with real people face to face."
And:
"My understanding is preservation with Alcor costs $100,000. - $150,000. As I said, whether that's personally funded or insurance, a lot of money."
Why not state the correct numbers? Are you too lazy to click a mouse button or pick up the phone? How can anyone expect to take your opinions seriously if you don't bother to verify even the most basic and easily accessible facts?
And are you not aware of the amounts that are set aside for long-term maintenance? Have you even tried to do the math? Cryonics has never been priced realistically. It has always depended on large bequests (which is how CI bought its building) and ongoing subsidies (from benefactors such as Kent and Faloon). Your suggestion that Alcor's cryopreservation fee is excessive appears to be based on nothing other than a feeling of entitlement shared by most cryonicists, presumably coupled with the widespread faith that repair and revival will be virtually free, courtesy of Our Friends in the Future.
