A world/society overseen!? by, um, whom??!

Luke, who I already like, subtly mentions this notion: "a perfect world overseen by God, not merely an advanced society overseen by friendly AI".

Does anyone else here get the connection between "God" and superior "AI" friendly or not?

This horrifies me. We could also do without the "overseeing" from politicians and governments not truly representative of the people they govern. We certainly do not need to add any "superior" beings doing it, whose motives and actions could change at a whim, like those of Alcor's board.
