There is no truth to the rumor that ...

October 20 2009, 11:28 AM

... Bonnie Magee is Finance Department. I can personally attest to the fact that she is not.

She is an imposter and must be removed!

Just kidding - I wish her well in keeping Alcor's accounts clean and green.

Maybe they will listen to her since they are paying her. My volunteered advice over the years has not been met with much serious consideration.

Despite Bonnie's efforts though, it would not surprise me if another famous ball player needed "celebrity credit" to finance a suspension, Saul Kent would make it happen. Not much consideration there for the rules that apply to the average member - funding arrangements in advance. "Who said life is fair?" is the mantra, but added regulation sometimes makes things fair that have been taken advantage of by those who should make a high level of ethics and self-policing the paradigm in cryonics.

Regina Pancake, where'd you go?

October 20 2009, 11:34 AM

Her name seems to have quietly slipped off the Alcor Staff list, with nary an honorable mention "has left Alcor to pursue other bla bla" in the Alcor News.

So people go, at Alcor.

Maybe...

October 20 2009, 10:03 PM

...she's helping Johnson and Baldyga with some special effects for their movie. wink.gif (Didn't someone mention that Baldyga writes screenplays? Hmmm...can't find it...maybe it was on Cryonet.)

(It's a joke...I'm only kidding...I don't really think there's going to be a movie, and if there was, I doubt Regina would be involved. I just couldn't resist some comic relief, even if some people here don't always have much of a sense of humor.)

Baldyga & Hollywood.

October 20 2009, 10:34 PM

Baldyga has a Hollywood work history:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0050031/

The Frozen website also describes him as a screenwriter for hire:

http://www.frozenbook.com/authors.php

Assuming the book gets turned into a movie, whom would you like to see play Alcor's employees at the time?

My choices for a few of them:

Alfred Molina for Michael Riskin.

Ben Cross for Charles Platt.

Brian Dennehy for Dave Pizer.

Dustin Hoffman for Mike Perry.

Ned Beatty for Joe Hovey.

Sheila Kimbrell also vanished

October 21 2009, 12:54 AM

Not even a "we wish you well" from Jennifer, the PR giant?

You can't say Sheila was exactly the major cryo activist. In fact, we have no evidence of her being signed up at all. As if that is terribly important. "Phil" seems to think it is, except for his unsigned Melody heroine.

Apart from all of that, it seems that one half of Bonnie and Clyde has managed to replace TWO Alcor heroines.

I'm so confused,

FD

Melody is not an "unsigned cryonicist" LIKE Shiela-- failure to make distinction fallacy

October 21 2009, 10:34 AM

This is typical of the fallacy of the failure to make important distinctions. To compare the non signed up status of someone like Shiela with the non signed up status of Maxim is a giant "phallus"-ee. FD's attempt to locate them in the same idea-space is a true indication of his/her motives in ERASING distinctions that are required.

Bonnie Magee

October 21 2009, 5:09 PM

I met Bonnie, a signed-up Alcor member, last Friday. She said she's taken the bookkeeping job at the lab. I wish her well, given Alcor's current difficulties.
