Great Mouse Detective

Well I just saw that this movie was being rereleased by Disney video. This was my favorite of the Disney films, maybe because I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan. I love the fact they held true to so many Holmes conventions, the pipe, the Baker Street flat, keepshakes from each adventure - including possessions of his enemies, the violin, lab equipment, the deer stalker cap, the trusty doctor sidekick, various costumes specifically used to blend in. I read where the orignal Basil R. voice was sampled and dubbed for the "Sherlock scene." Vincent Price is a wonderful villian as Prof. Ratigan. A very entertaining film that incorporates the best Holmes and puts a wonderful spin on it. The clock scene through Big Ben is one of my favorite animated scenes ever. I'd wish Disney would continue the adventures of Basil of Baker Street, The Great Mouse Detective.
