(to TMQ) Re: Sh Ballet and A&E Bio

Dahling, this is reply booted up so you can easily find it.

(RE: SH BALLET)
Yes, there is a Holmes in ballet, it was called The Great Detective. It's a ballet given by the Sadler's Wells Compony in 1953. No, sadly, they never FILMED it (I wish they did), but I have a few images in my SH references if you're interested in looking at them. I can post them here, plus 2 articles about it here too.

Honestly, every time I look at these photographs, I crack up laughing. It's a respectable ballet of Holmes and Watson, but I find the adorable humour in them. It's NOT Bas in a tutu (but that is a cute yet deranged image).

Yes, it's difficult to see Basil singing, but if he ever did, I say he's a baritone tenor (not to high, not too low).

(RE: SH A&E BIO)
I recommend the bio, but honestly, they could have said more on Holmes. They stuck mainly on on the pastiched version of Holmes, not the original Holmes of the Doyle writings (which upset me).

However, the guest narrator was David Burke (Jeremy Brett's first Watson) playing, well, an aged Watson tell little stories about his dear friend.

Recommended doc, it could have better, but still good and well meaning.

Very truly yours...
