I am both a part time driver and a part time pedestrian/public transport user so I am no eco-warrier.
I disagree to Mr Local Driver's message regarding the crossing at B2/roundabout.
I do believe that that notorious crossing is a bit of a hassle/danger but I also believe that the amount of traffic (mostly school run mothers and "no mate" car drivers). So, I think it is good to make it as difficult as possible for the regular drive-thru' drivers. One should be driving slowly enough to stop when approaching a crossing anyway. A child might burst out!
I am one of those peds who walk as slowly as I can when I am crossing.
I share a car with my mother, although I hardly drive it these days. I think more should be done to discourage drivers who don't need to drive, and encourage them to walk, bike or take a bus instead. Improve the environment, health and safety for all pedestrians.
I think there should be crossings all around the big roundabout and perhaps around the little one too so the experience of driving is less enjoyable and more frustrating for the drivers.
I do understand the need for some to drive, but honestly, I would say the majority of drivers on the road do not need to drive so ousting them would make it easier for necessary driving.
Lastly, I would like to see more traffic wardens please! There are so many illegally parked cars in Muswell Hill! On buslanes, at peak times, they show NO respect!
