Bloody Parking Wardens on a Sunday!

by Peter Finch

I received a ticket today, Sunday 25/06/2000 at 18:26 in Fortis Green Road , just outside the flower shop opposite the video shop. Not a shop, apart from the cafe and video shop were open, hardly a car in site, no traffic, yet this short, squat, black warden was out ticketing cars. What in god's name is wrong with Haringey, I thought Sunday was a day of rest. I find it paricularly irrtating due to the fact I received a ticket for extending my stay at the free parking space on the Broadway during the week at 16:02 and when I arrived, at 16:03 the warden was ticketing the sixth car, mine being the first, how did he manage 6 cars in 1 minute.

Despite denials I firmly believe these people are on a bonus and Haringey Council are looking for easy pickings in Muswell Hill.

Such action in Tottenham for instance would land the warden in hospital, if not the morgue.

I will be registing my vehicles at a holiday address from now on and ripping up the tickets.
