It is already an offence to double park or cause an obstruction on the roads !!. The police have the powers to remove any vehicle which is a danger to other road users. What we need around here is some traffic wardens to enforce the Road Traffic Act. The CPZ is just an easy money making exersize...remember, we will all have to pay for it!! We pay enough council tax for the council to be able to fund a few wardens and a few yellow lines to control the problem. Remember the CPZ will only make the parking problem worse. By their own admission the system is going to reduce the amount of available space for parking, (all the spaces have to be able to accomodate a fairly large car). I don't want it, and I have off street parking !!. If somebody parks in front of my drive, I just ring the police to remove it!!
I suggest that you all report illegal parking.
No better deterrant than to come back from the shops to find your car either with a £40 fine, or gone completely !
