The Great Henna Adventure Day 3

Got the pics up.  It was mega bright in the sun, whooeee! Kerry kept laughing at it, he said it turn absolutely translucent in sunlight. He sure was enjoying it! I didn't even out the color as much as I hoped. My ends are already Irish Setter Red...leaning towards Christmas red!  I'll try to get pics tomorrow so I can keep track of how it oxidises. No one looked at my hair and went "Wow!"  Either it's not as bad as I think, or they are being really, really polite. I asked Shelly if she thought it was too much and she said she thought it looked natural. OK! It's just still a shock going past the mirror. Makes my eyes look really blue though!

First two showing my roots and ugly cowlick. Even where it's been dyed before looks pretty washed out.

It was actually brighter than this, but pretty close, I matched the colors to Moosie, supervising there in the background. Look Mom, no roots!

Now I just sit back and let it darken. I still smell like hay!

Nov.19th

Well, it's been about 48 hours. Some of the brassy orange tones have calmed down, it is still REALLY red. I love it though, I think I look younger. I won't be going back to chem dyes, that's for sure. I will have to watch that I don't henna right before I need to go somewhere for business. I might henna again right before Christmas and pose as an ornament!  It will contrast nicely with my green velvet dress, hee hee.

Here's what it looks like after 48 hours. In the pic it looks like it almost matches my sig pic color...it doesn't. It's more intensely red. I actually think this was the color I was trying for when I had that celophane experience and it turned maroon instead. (shudder shudder)

Hi Renee!

LOVE your journal -- Moosie is so ADORABLE! *

I take in iguanas (I'm a severe asthmatic, but I've always LOVED animals, and I've turned into a pretty good rehabber as well!):

http://remarque.org/~mbkomor/new/

All of the pics and subdirectories have my and friends' animals

I tried looking at the images on your yahoo pics archive but it wouldn't let me view them

If you like, IM me (yahoo messenger: IguanaCam ) -- we can talk "animal kids"!

Best wishes,

-Meriday Beth

P.S. Your hair turned out GORGEOUS! ...I'm researching henna for a friend of mine and for me (whenever I get around to actually turning gray ) and your journal was very helpful -- as well as screamingly funny in places! :D Thx! *

Well, Hi!

April 11 2005, 9:49 PM

Shows you how often I have been to my journal, I just found your post! Thank you for your kind words, and I'm thrilled I could make you laugh. I used to have two iguanas. I'd love to talk iggies and others, and I have been doing a blog mostly on critters at Blogger Bot. I'm at wizardry@wvi.com. Sorry about the delay, once into baby season things are rather hectic. Right now I have a ringtailed lemur and a kinkajou on the bottle!
