Well as you all know it's been awhile since I've been here on the forum. This time of the year is always EXTREMELY busy for me with work, guiding hunts, and Christmas programs and such. After we got home from one of my oldest daughter's programs the other night, my wife shocked me like I've never been shocked before...........she told me that she was PREGNANT!!!!
She had a miscarriage about 9 years ago and after a few months we went to a doctor in Tulsa and after his exam, he concluded that there was too much scar tissue in her uterus to allow conception. Well we just went along with that conclusion and over time felt that he was probably right, until about 6 weeks ago!
The baby is due early August. During the month of August I'll have a junior in College, a 16 year old junior in High School and a 12 year old....and a newborn.
As you would expect, being shocked is an understatement, but we are all quite happy about this new "developement". I do have built in babysitters as well as all our friends volunteering their time and efforts, so that will help.
As you can expect some of the dog stuff will be on hold for awhile this year. I'll just have to wait and see what happens and how I "hold up"....
Please remember Wendy in your prayers,,,,you may want to say a few for me too...
Having children "spread out" over a few years myself, I can say that the you will appreciate that youngest one more than you will ever believe. When you are in your late teens or early 20's & you have a baby, you believe it will be a "life-time" away before your baby will graduate high school & leave the nest. But, when you are 40 something & have a baby you realize they will be grown & gone before you can turn around.
It must have been devine intervention, someone upstairs knew that in a very few years your daughters would be gone from home so you will need some help socializing those puppies.
Congrats, and we will keep you and your family in our prayers.
Mike if there is anything I can do to help on the medical side do not hesitate to call. We own clinics that have ultra sounds and things that drive up cost. I will help in any way I can
Mike you and I have known each other for a very long time, Wendy and the girls mean a great deal to me. As you know i have two good hard headed boys, so yours and wendy's girls along with a few other close friends girls, I have come to consider mine. You and Wendy have raised three very good girls, and i know that this new addition will have the same character and heart that your girls have. The only problem i see is that you may be going to sign (him or her) up for preschool with a walking cane. But having a little one at this age will keep you young at heart. I hope you and yours have a very merry christmas, this christmas will be both happy and sad with the passing of your father and the news of the new additon. You know if you need me I am here.
Mike... It's been very busy around here and regretfully I have not had much time to visit the forum. Well, I just wanted to check in real quick and say Merry Christmas and there was the news. I can't tell you how happy I am for you and Wendy and I can't wait to tell Beth! I hope all else is going well and please tell Wendy that we will be thinking about her(and you too buddy). MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
