Saw the videos of Dave’s pups, they look great, can’t wait to get up there to see them, I will be in Nebraska the week after Thanksgiving headed your way on Monday or Tuesday, the 8th – 9th of December, it will depend on how the birds are, if they’re good, it may be the week after that.
I also wanted to let everyone else know that if you like to hunt Grouse this is the year to get up to Wisconsin, we spent a week up in the Wabeno area, in the Nicollett National Forest, there were birds everywhere, we moved at lest 30 – 40 birds each day, I say “moved” because they were really spooky, the dogs could not hold them so it was tough to get good shots, they were also in pretty thick cover, the woodcock was up too, we did not get into any, but everyone we talked to said they killed their limit almost every day, a DNR Ranger we talked to said that they expect that in the next two years the numbers will peak before they start falling again.
