I feel kinda sorry for the gal. She is huge and she's not due for another 4 days. It's gotta be a 12 pup litter. Here's Cassie in all her glory..

Cassie had her pups this week-end and turns out she had 13. The last pup was whelped several hours after the other and was basically born dead. Anyway there are 12 pups. I will be supplementing several trying to keep them going, as this is alot of pups to care for but that's how Cassie does it. This is her 5th. litter and her litter sizes have been like this, 11, 12, 11, 12 and now 13. Here's a pic of Cassie and her new pups by Dave.

I'm not sure why, but Cassie seemed to really struggle getting this litter going after they were born. Today she has 6 pups remaining, 4 males and 2 females. One of the males is quite iffy at this point. I have not been able to put my finger on what the problem is as she has never had any issues in the past, other than loosing several pups from a litter to parvo many years ago but that wasn't her fault. This time seemed to be a struggle for her and I believe this will be her last litter and I will retire her. Anyway my apologies to those that were wanting pups, especially females from this litter as there won't be any available.
