SONY LEGACY CELEBRATES JOHN BARRY WITH TWO RELEASES
Expanded Reissues of DANCES WITH WOLVES and THE CHASE Showcase the Talents of Legendary Film Composer John Barry
(April 8, 2004) - New York, NY – In celebration of his recent 70th birthday, Sony Legacy will release two titles by legendary film composer John Barry: THE CHASE (Columbia/Legacy/Sony Music Soundtrax) and DANCES WITH WOLVES (Epic/Legacy/Sony Music Soundtrax). Barry has been nominated for seven Academy Awards™, and has won five times.
At age 33, Barry, who had been writing film music less than 5 years at the time, celebrated 1966 with his first two Oscars for Best Original Score and Song with BORN FREE. That year also saw the theatrical release of THE CHASE. Starring Marlon Brando, Jane Fonda, Robert Redford and Angie Dickinson, directed by Arthur Penn (THE MIRACLE WORKER, BONNIE AND CLYDE), based on a book by Horton Foote (who won an Oscar for his screenplay adaptation of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD), and produced by Sam Spiegel (ON THE WATERFRONT, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA), the film wasn’t well received by the critics or the public in spite of its outstanding pedigree. Barry’s score, however, was extraordinary.
The British-born Barry would have seemed an unlikely choice to score the uniquely American film which follows the prison escape of Texan Bubber Reeves and the subsequent chase that ensues as he tries to go home to see his wife. His contribution was a wonderfully nuanced score, aptly described in the liner notes by journalist Richard Torres as “an aural landscape which is uniquely Southern and utterly ominous.”
The 1990 release DANCES WITH WOLVES was a landmark film and a landmark score for Barry, who had been out of commission for the previous two years due to health problems. The film earned twelve Academy Award™ nominations, winning eight Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director (Kevin Costner), and Best Original Score – Barry’s fifth career win. With this reissue Barry’s score for DANCES WITH WOLVES is presented for the first time in its entirety. This package includes the previously unreleased film versions of “The Buffalo Hunt” and “The John Dunbar Theme”, with liner notes by Jon Burlingame (Variety).
The two titles, DANCES WITH WOLVES and THE CHASE will be in stores on May 18, 2004.

I certainly hope this isn't the atmosphere around here anymore. I have read the archived posts all the way back to page 8 and frankly, I've had enough.
I am a member of another celebrity board...the only difference between this one and that one is that the celebrity on that board has been dead for almost 25 years. Believe me, the cat-fighting can get pretty mean over there as well.
I guess my point is this...Kevin is a great actor, devilishly sexy, and extremely talented. Y'all are so lucky to have a "live" warm body to talk about. The man is still here with all of us. Think how it would be if Kevin were to suddenly die tomorrow...or what if he had been on one of the terrorist flights...what if he had cancer...or, what if the same thing happened to him that happened to this other celebrity that I chat about...what if the stress got to be too much for him and he put a bullet in his brain.
There is a guy here who is still contributing to the world in which we all live in. He makes the world a better place just by showing up...no matter what his life style choices are. Let God judge that.
I came here to be a part of a group that dug the same guy I do...maybe I don't belong here. If someone wants to chat about Kevin and all his "attributes" and "assets"...give me a holler via e-mail.

Well, I can certainly see that April was definitely a bust month for this forum! LOL. I do want to get the whole story...but how far back do I go? I have gone back 6 pages now and it's still somewhere around April 15th. Just wondering...not trying to start any stuff. LOL

Hi all,
This is soooo cool. I have loved and admired Kevin for years now and I love watching his movies over and over again. I thought he was the sexiest thing alive in Dances With Wolves and The Postman but I saw a movie this weekend that has brought new perspective to the word HOT! 3000 Miles To Graceland did it for me.
Maybe it's a mid-life crisis thing since I'm nearing 40 but I had never really seen him play an evil character before...well, lets just say I watched it three times in one day..LOL!!!! Now the movie poster is my wall paper, I am on a mad search to buy this movie, and I begged the lady who owns the video store to give me the movie poster when she doesn't want it anymore. I can hardly contain myself and my husband (poor guy) has literally thrown his hands up in the air. I am now Kevin-Krazy! But I don't think that's a bad thing. LOL.
I want to thank the web mistress for putting this forum and fan site out on the web. By the way...I make computer wall papers. If anyone wants a Kevin wall paper just let me know. And has anyone thought about starting a fan fiction site for Kevin and his characters? I would gladly write a story based on the character of Murphy.
Luv to all......MurphsHoney

I did actually catch your post to TCN before it was deleted. And FYI, there is no way "Red" was the same person as "Peaches" (but you already know that).
As for whether the new European Board nvolves "Peaches", I do not know. If it does, heaven help it. If it does, it's going to self-destruct, just like "Dee" destroyed this board, if "Peaches" is involved.
"Dee" seemed like the best thing that ever happened to this board, since Anna left, but now that the IP addresses are showing it is apparent that "Dee" was several dozen other people, and only the "Dee" persona was a nice one.
You only have yourself to blame, BTW, for the fact that I am here, now, making these comments. I would have let it go. But you just couldn't.
And your suggestion that Peaches and Red are one is too revolting and dishonest for me to let this go. Red has a bona fide English ISP and her own website with her bona fide English ISP - and I've had email contact with her via her bona fide English ISP. She doesn't use hotmail like you do.
You, on the other hand, only posted with your bona fide Irish ISP here as long as you thought your IP address was hidden. You're not Red, you'll never have the class that Red has. And for you to try to tell me that Red = You makes me ill.

You people can call me a liar and accuse me of all sorts of things, yet when I try to post publically to alert the normal people who are here of how vicious and mean and freakish you people are you delete my post? Did you also go back about a month and delete all the posts from back then when you freaks called me a liar and falsely and slanderously accused me of things I was not guilty of? If not, I suggest you do so. In order to silence me you should probably do it right, destroy all evidence! LOL...your freakish and mean posts about 7 pages back speak for themselves.

There is no one in charge of this board except Network 54, and they have been trying to solve the problems here for us. A few days ago they began to require us to create a login account, and IP addresses were made visible on each post. I gather what has happened now is they've reviewed the situation here and found that more stringent measures are needed for security purposes.
The entire thread that you posted to is gone, not just your post. I can only assume that Network 54 received a complaint about that thread.

Except it isn't Rowena you are agreeing with. Rowena's IP address from the past is 152.163.201.79. The IP address of the person who just posted as Rowena below is 194.145.134.47.
Obviously Network 54's solution isn't preventing impersonations. Too bad.

If you want to talk about Kevin Costner, as Ana had in mind, you need have no fear of registering as is now required, with Network 54. If all you want to do is trash others, then I guess we won't be hearing from you anymore.
