I spent a tremendous evening in the Kerrydale Suite last night at this evening in aid of the Beatson Oncology Centre...a charity night arranged by John Clark in aid of Cancer research. What a gathering it was..Celtic squads from the last 5 decades. All the present squad were there, including Craig Burley who had caught a flight from Derby at 6pm to be there. At one stage I wished him good luck and said that i wished he was still here...his answer was "so do f'ing I" So,more petrol for the fire.
The entire Lisbon Lions were there,McStay,Burns.Bonner,Walker Cardinal Winning,Elaine C. Smith (Mary Doll) Hoopy the huddle hound,Jim Kerr Dixie Deans.......and many many more.
There was the customary meal, comedians, enetertainment from Manhattan Skyline, raffles and a wonderful auction. All in all the evening raised the largest amount ever in one night at Parkhead...a total of £75,000-00p which was fantastic There were tops from Ronaldo,Owen,Larsson,Bergkamp and Giggs and it was a real good Celtic night.Certainly Stubbs,McNamara and Gould gave Burley a right good going away party and without going into it as I believe they are entitled to their nights out without people who were there in their company talking about their every move....you could say that if they had trainig today they would have...well,lets say struggled big time!!!!!
My last recollection is the few remaing at 2am being led in an rendition of Hail Hail by the aforementioned Mr. Stubbs!!!And we gave it lalldy!!!
So thats a wee something that was happenning back home last night. If any of you would like various pictures of it just e-mail me and I will oblige.Meanwhile I have sent a copy of the programme to Simon with messages of good luck to the newely formed Malta C.S.C. that all the players now know about!!!Hail Hail and out

This was my first visit to the site of the newly formed Celtic Supporters Club of Malta.I just want to say how very proud I am of all those involved in it's birth and also to tell you that it is going to be a thrill watching it go from strength to strength.
It will be over a decade ago now when I first began preaching the Celtic way to various Maltease friends on one of my many visits to those beautiful Islands. And to be fair they are good listeners because it wasn't long before a regular flow started making their way to see the Celts play, making my home their base for their regular visits. To see Simon Portelli's name on your committee list is undoubtedly my proudest momment as a Celt....from knowing nothing about the Celts 10 years ago he could now put to shame most of us with his total dedication to all that is Celtic...he really does breath green and white. As your introduction say's..." Celtic chooses you"..well,it's chose a good one here.I'm really proud of Simons love for the Celts.
So we now have representation on the Maltese Islands,,,,well not before time.and so with all my heart I want to wish you all well,in the good times and the bad,and look forward with great anticipation to the first time I visit your club.
You know ,there will be occassions in the near future when the lads who own Ryans will be saying to themselves...this was a good move creating this association with Celtic supporters:financially and otherwise...because any Celtic club...and I like you have been in them all over the globe...any club is a credit to all around it,and I know you will be too.
Good Luck..here's to you all!!!!!!

I was at a committee meeting for the supporters' club and then I had to go to work. I'm off to give Rangers a doing now on the PS. By the way. What's the score on the Burley move to Derby? That shocked me. Barnes didn't seem to have a clue about what was happening.
Posted on Dec 2, 1999, 1:54 AM from IP address 212.56.128.167
the carpet was pulled from under Burley's feet. Somebody wanted him out, and had to go a round about way in getting him out. It worked. The players seem to be very frustrated with what's going on. Give Rangers phuck on the Playstation. Cripple Mols while you're there - and that bastard McCann. While you're there give new signing Dodds a good seeing to as well, just for me.

Mr. Bhadbhoy, I guess you have to agree with me that Scotland gave an amazing display yesterday. WE did not make it, however, Wembley was our territory.
The lads gave their hearts out and outclassed the English loos on the pitch.
Seaman was damn lucky in that last save. Had the header been just a wee bit to either side, the net would have busted.
I just did not agree with Craig Brown on one count, why the heck did he replace McCann in the forward line. I'm not saying Burchill should not have gone in, not at all. But I would have preferred had Brown replaced someone else from defence or midfield to add punch to the forward line with a trio made up of McCann, Burchill and Dodds.
However, well done Scotland !!!! You'll never walk alone lads !!!!

PS By Christmas, dear PMc, you'll get to know who I am, I'm sometimes close ye know !!! You've even praised me !!!! GOODNIGHT FELLAS

Our great club must give Barnesey the rest of the season to see if he can turn things around OK.
If anyone's to blame it should be Dalglish & McDonald for appointing an untried, unqualified bloke in the first place. Also, where are the big signings that go to make a great team??? Petta, Petrov, Blinker, Brattbakk, Wright? I don't think so! Get Barnes the players to play his game. This mob can only pass backwards and about as fast as I can run!!! And that's pretty slow I can tell you! The idea's good but you have to have the right players. The choice is either get him the players to play his style or get rid of him and get Wim back. At least he'll get the best out the current bunch.
Keep up the good work and Hail Hail. The club's too great to stay down for long so stick in there lads!
Ciao from Adelaide in the land of OZ.

It's true Barnes needs to sign some class and maybe his ideas are there but it's no use waiting a couple of seasons to see if it works. For the last decade we have been walking in Rangers' shadow and we demand success NOW

Every time you have visited the RR I have posted a message and then ye wiz awa'. The site is looking brilliant, you've obviously put a lot of work into it. Your posting on the RR about DJ'ing made me nearly burst an artery laughing. Your sense of humour is sorely missed there. Come back Shep, ah miss ya.

It seems we agree on this one but your previous message has scared the shit out of my wife. If you know me then don't send me wierd messages or I'll have to ban your IP from this forum.
I don't think you're a sicko (Apart from the fact you support Rangers) so please behave yourself.

Dear Chairman,
Just popped by to set your mind at rest that I'm no weirdo and I mean no harm to anybody, even if they are so dumb to support Celtic !!
By Christmas I will make sure that you will get to know me and then you will notice that I really mean what I said above. I'm sure you will be greatly surprised then who Mr. Sandal is !!
Well, on a sour note, I was highly disappointed yesterday following the game. I think we deserved something better, especially that miss following the first goal. Yet, as Craig Brown said, it is still half time. Who knows, maybe next Wednesday the Scottish pride will bring results.
That's it for now my friend. Take care and put your mind at rest. Friends never hurt each other !!

(PS In future I will offer you a pint. At least I will pay you back for when you offered me more than a pint)

Well Mr. Bhadbhoy, hope you're fine !!
Literally, you did offer me more than a pint and nuts, and I mean what I say, but not in the bad sense you thought it it to be.
I'm no bad bloke, just a worried bloke because I see you yet so naive to support Celtic when the true team is on the other side of Glasgow !!! Well this year is again Rangers year, what a pity !!!!! Not a good year to launch the Supporters Club, ain't it ??? Tough luck, maybe by the year 3000 Celtic will return to some (sic) greatness !!!
Have a good night and take care!!!
But who is Sandal Lovers Bar ??? (or Mr. Sandal according to you )

Dear Chairman,
If I do watch my back, as you advised me, I will be able to catch a glimpse of Celtic !!!!
This green material is always following the pride of Scotland, RANGERS. They only can get a hold of our leftovers.
So, yes, Mr. PMc, I will watch my back with pleasure as the sight is quite interesting.
See ya,

That's what I call......OUTCLASSING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by Sandal Lovers Bar
Well my dear Mr. Chairman!!! I'm back with a vengeance.
For some time I lost your site BUT I managed to find it again.
Well PMc, you had a short-lived laugh last Wednesday when the PRIDE of Scotland were really, really unlucky in Munich.
However everything bounced back in ye Celtic faces when Lyon DOWNED you in style.
The humilation continued in majestic style today in the mhytical derby, may I please remind you of the result:
RANGERS 4 - Celtic 2.
You should have called the meeting on another day, maybe when Celtic will meet grandma's team for bridge.
Johansson put the best team ahead. Then Rangers let the green slime smell what success may mean by letting Bercovic score twice (you had to rejoice for some minutes or else it would have been bad for the heart).
Albertz returned you to your grief with a beautiful run only to be downed by Lambert (had to be a red card!!). PENALTY !!!! And it's 2-2.
The lead had to be an Amore act !! What a goal for a Catholic ! And then Gould sensed what it means to be a roundabout. It must have been a great feeling until he saw the ball in his net thanks to Amato !!
It could have easily been also 5-2, but we don't want you to abondon hope, or else we won't have another great laugh next time.
4 points ahead and so early in the league yet again !!! When will you end hope ??? But don't worry, we will present you with the PERMANENT RUNNERS-UP TROPHY !!!!
Have a good night (ahem, well sort of!!) my dear P, and send my regards to the other P at home and little, adorable S. Hope the new flat is OK.
But who is Sandal Lovers Bar ???

True we had a bad day (week) but our day will come and it will be back to crowds of 16,000 for you as Rangers only follow the team enmasse when they are winning. Me? I'll be there to have the last laugh when Celtic get things right, and they will. As far as gloating that you are 4 points ahead at this time in the season? That's pure pish.
4 points is nothing when it's not even half way through the season. If you were 4 points clear with one game to go then you would have some kind of point. As for who you are? Who cares? You might know me but have you ever bought me a pint?
Now there's a thought.

Have you nothing better to do than come to a Catholic page and try to preach your Orange bullshit. Would'nt it be better if you stayed at home trying to count how many trophies Rangers won in Europe. Won't keep you too long would it and it never will. People like you should stick to browsing the net trying to find a Rangers forum where you could all weep the exit of your Club from the most prestigious cup in Europe.
Posted on Nov 9, 1999, 8:38 PM from IP address 194.204.110.135
They just haven't got what it takes and they never will have. God would never allow a team like Rangerks to win the European Cup.
Prediction for the Lyon game.
Celtic 2 Lyon 0 Viduka and Wright.

Looks like its another wait for the hungry Huns. Don't bother waiting for something that will never arrive. Join the winners. Join the CELTIC family. We DO get the honours that matter.

Huns only have 2 more games in Europe this season, unless they change the rules so that if you lose on aggregate you go back into the Champions' league.

sorry I've not been around. Having a few wee probs on the home front myself. Will Wrighty do the business for us until Henke returns? I hope he can fill those boots for a while.
Posted on Oct 27, 1999, 10:20 PM from IP address 212.136.249.28
I think it would take more than an aging ex-England striker to fill Henke's boots.
If we want to seriously challenge the Hun this season we will have to spend, spend, spend and replace a long term injured class striker with a fully fit class striker.
The return of the Biscuit tin again. Tut-tut.

I can't beleive Larsson's broken his leg, I'm stuck t work but have it taped at home, I fel ill just thinking about it. A lot rests on Burchill's shoulders now, i hope the boy can do it for us. If Larrson's break is clean he might get back this season, but remember that guy Buset who played for Coventry, the one where Schmeichel nearly threw up when he saw his leg, that guys career is over, I'm going to be praying all night.
