I got my mustang when I was 19. I am 20 now. With me on my dad's insurance, and on that policy, there are 4 perfect driving records including mine. This policy also has my dad's house on it, so that is a discount. I also have all the other little discounts like good student, alarm discount, and all the other little things that add up. My mustang is only a V6 and a 2001. My insurance runs me a little over 300 a month. It might be different for you though, because insurance rates change from city to city. Just call around. Also when i was shopping, alot of insurance companies would not even let me have a policy with them, just because of how fast and the type of car it is. Best advice is to go on your parents policy, and that way you can still have the title in your own name. Good luck!!
