Three Chord Opera, IMHO

is a mixed bag. I really didn't like it when I first heard it, but now it is growing on me. First, I do think the lyrics on these songs are much more sophisticated than ever before reflecting of a more peaceful spirit within Neil himself (e.g., And I like the melodies on most of the songs. But I do think some of the music is overdone. Let me say that I am not a musical expert, quite opposite, I can barely tell one instrument from another. But in some songs, the horn section appears too loud for Neil and I'd like to rip that Hammond organ out of there. I have heard the Hammond on other cd's and it's not so overpowering.

I think rather than a Three Chord Opera Two, I'd like to see another CD altogether, with maybe more upbeat songs like Baby Let's Drive. In the meantime, as I know songwriting/producing etc is no easy task, it would be nice if Neil released either another TMA (I know, this is where I differ as many don't like this one, I feel it really showcased his voice and the orchestra didn't overpower him) or a nice cd of previously unreleased music. Even if there not complete! For example, I love Hear Them Bells and his early writing days on IMLT!

Neil, if you're listening, we will never tire of your awesome voice!
