other Neil Diamond tribute performers/bands? I am not in the music business nor do I know much about music except to listen, but I couldn't help but be pleased you are interested in pursuing your talents!

There is a Neil impersonator, Robert Leslie, who is in UK, his website is http://foreverinbluejeans.co.uk
Also, Tom Sadge is quite popular in the US and a group called Superdiamond. If you go to the I AM I SAID message board (http://iaisnd.com), there is a link called Toni's Master List of Neil Diamond Links. Click on that and scroll down to the bottom. Near the bottom are a lot of links to websites for Neil tribute performers. I believe most give their email address and it might be worth a email.

I do not know any of the performers, nor have I seen them (personally, I prefer the real Neil, but a lot of people do love these tribute bands), so this is not an advertisement for anyone. Just trying to help you get started.
