I Don't Like That Idea.

Some songs are so personal to a songwriter, that only they should sing them. Elvis and Sinatra both did "Sweet Caroline" and that was fine. I think if some of the newer artists wanted some great cover songs, they should go back to the early years. "Thank The Lord For The Nightime" would make a great cover song for someone. It would probably make me physically ill if I ever heard anyone else sing "Play Me" or "I Am I Said" even "Stones" and "Shilo" should be off limits!
