I have noticed his earlier LP's were thicker until the late 70's when the world was going through the crisis of oil production so the record companies had to cut down on as much oil that went into the making of the vinyl material that makes LP's. I think the thicker ones has better quality because the grooves were stronger than the thinner LP's.
