marsupialization normally like this?

I had a marsupialization 2 weeks ago, and frankly, it has left a CRATER in my vagina. I had a BC that become infected twice (in 15 years) and never deflated in between. My urologist thought the sheer size of it (although it was usually non-symptomatic---just big!) was causing repeat urinary tract infections, so I had it marsupialized.

If I felt slightly deformed before, now I feel positively mangled. The hole is at lease an inch across and just as deep. To be frank (flinching), it looks like a second vagina. I saw the dr today, and even he said it hasn't "shrunk" as much as they usually do post-op.

I'm a little terrified that I'll be disfigured for life. Do any of you have experience with a large marsupialization? Will it shrink more, do you suppose. This is worse than the original problem, by far, and to be honest, my husband is a little repulsed.
