I too have just had a marsupialization. My problems started this time last week. I went for my routine piddle in the morning and felt a little strange below. On wiping myself I felt a lump the size of a walnut. Deep joy - Trying to get an appointment at the docs is not an easy task on a monday morning.
On talking briefy to the doc they assumed I had a prolapse and told me to come in as soon as possible. At the grand age of 34 (!!!!) I thought a prolapse was unlikely.......
An hour later I was told a had a Bartholin's Gland Abscess and that antibiotics would be unlikely to resolve the situation and to come back in a couple of days if nothing had improved.
I went straight off to work amd perching slowly and carefully on my chair I trawled the internet for information. This the only site I could find that offered any sort of explaination and although I was selective about which bits I looked at (I am very squeamish) I felt I was not alone.
Wednesday came (my abscess is now the size of an egg and wolking is near impossible) and I was taken into hospital for my marsupialization. I have not been in hospital for treatment before and I was petrified.
One week on from the initial outset I feel fantastic. At last I can sit up straight on my chair although I do come over all faint sometimes.
i haven't taken the time to look at what handy work the hospital have completed and as I am squeamish I don't think I will for a while!!!!!
I would like to thank you all for taking the time to add your experiences to this site. It has helped me and I hope to will help many others.
I have yet to return to work and the bit i am not looking forward to is telling my male boss exactly what I went to hospital for!!!
