Hi There,
Im on my fourth BGCyst. The first one I was terrified! I was 22 and there was alot of swelling on the right side. I went to the doctor cause well of course I was freaking out. She actually scared me even more. - The next day she advised that I had to have surgey at the hospital right away! so my appointment was set my my Gynecologist and went in to have it removed, I cannot remember what the surgery was called then but i did go under anethetic, when I woke up i didnt have stitches but gauss packed in- they removed that later in the day and I only had to stay over 1 night. I did use some pain killers for about 2 days cause I was scared to feel any pain. I was only 22 and the doctor didnt tell me if I had other options. (guess I did as I found out the second time I got it.)
So the second time I got it (1year later)i had gone to a medicenter in a panick and they just said go and take baths and that was about it. - then it ruptured on its own. IT sure felt better after that. Then I got it again about 6 months later - that one ruptured on its own too.
And now it is 5 years later and im on the starting of another one!! so deppressed. I have a different doctor now and she put me on antibiotics to see if that works. IM into my 4th day of that - 7 days total. Not quite positive that it is working. I will see back on the 7th day.
Im still scared. Im currently 30. The doctor said just keep an eye on it for now. Thats all I can do. I feel physically fine. just worried. I wish these strange things never happened to any of us. I wish the best of luck for anyone with this. If I get a chance I will reupdate in a few days. P.s Usually when Ive had these barcolin gland cysts they are only about a week and half long as they swell and rupture very quickly. But yes like others I did have a soreness that turned into a lump then bigger & bigger within days. The surgery for the abcess cyst removal wasnt that bad. Having it rupture on its own was such a relief. So dont be scared if that happens! its a good thing, then you dont have to worry about it anymore for now, this is what my doctor told me.
