I've posted recently. Here's my situation in a nutshell: BGA on right side lanced twice within a week's time - OUCH!! Second time a catheter was inserted, lasted 2 wks (supposed to be 4 wks). Anyhow, visited doc. He says right side is great. Now left side has swelling. We're holding off surgery UNTIL left side becomes infected/abscessed. It's not painful now. Just a wait-and-see status now. He says to keep area free of bacteria so as not to get infected. Well, Saturday I enjoyed a nice stay in Huntington Beach. I started thinking of bacteria risks with summer activities fast approaching: Swimming at the beach, swimming in pools. I certainly DO NOT want to become a germophobe, because I've NEVER been that way. I DO, however, want to avoid the PAIN which we can all relate to. Have any of you ever inquired about this? I'll most likely put a call in to my GYN this afternoon. Thanks for your input
