Hi Soraya,

Really sorry you had to go through that. Try having warm baths with sea salt in, I've been having those since friday and it seems to be healing well now. Best thing to do is just take it easy and don't rush yourself, I know that's hard when we have to go to work! I was having to have a week off every month or so since decemeber when these things started. Think my boss is losing pateince with me! I read somewhere that 10% of marsup's don't work, but 90% do so hopefully we will be the lucky ones this time!

I actually had a cyst this last time, it hadn't turned into an abscess when they did the marsup so maybe that has something to do with the difference in pain. It wasn't very big. My surgeon said that when he drained the cyst there was evidence of infection so it was probably on the turn into an abscess. The three times before I didn't even have a cyst to start with, it just came up as a golf-ball sized abscess. Are you on antibiotics? I'm still on a course to help prevent infection.

I really do feel for everyone who goes through this, the pain of an abscess is indescribable and it's ruined many aspects of my life. Hopefully we won't have to cry over this problem anymore! I think if it comes back I'll take it for as long as I can (not long then!) and ask for it to be removed. My surgeon is very reluctant to do that though, as it's painful and complicated.

All the best with your marsup, give it a day and you will feel much better! In the mean time try the salt baths if you can, and take garlic tablets if you have any!

Laurie
