Response to Howcan gland removal not work?!

I have been suffering with cysts and abcesses since 1992. After numerous lancings, catheters and two marsup's, I had my gland removed in 2003, hopefully to get rid of this forever. Maybe this works for some people, but it didn't for me. My doctor gave me no guarantee's up front, but I had suffered so much, I was willing to give it a shot. My doctor (a gynecologist here in the USA), explained that the gland is not 'encapsulated', meaning it is not all in one place, rather more like an octopus with many arms that reach out all over. The main part is near the vaginal opening, which is where it drains from. It is difficult to remove the whole gland, especially in my case where I had so much scar tissue from the previous surgeries. The recovery from the surgery was long and painful, and I have quite a scar (on the inside), but it may be something you are willing to try, since it does seem to work for some lucky ladies. The good news in my case is that I am now 49 years old, and have begun the rep-menopause phase, which means a decrease in fluid and hormones, which my doctor bellieves will reduce the occurances. I sure as hell hope so, as my whole life comes to a stop when I get an abcess. This site has helped me so much. I thought I was a freak, was more than tick-ed off at the lack of infrormation, and didn't know anyone else that had this. I sincerely wish you good luck. It is a bitch.
