Response to Re: Excision advice

I have had a cyst for about 5 years. The first 3 years I had it, I had no pain, no irritation, nothing. My doctor insisited that I had it marsupilized immediately since she said that if I left it alone, there was a possibility of cancer. Ever since the marsup. I have had several absesses and a lot of pain and self ruptures. My doctor now is telling me that I need to have the surgery to remove the gland. She also says that this is not a procedure that she likes to do because it often times leads to complication after complication. My cyst is back again and it is like it was in the beginning; no pain or irritation whatsoever. Has anyone else heard from their doctors what are the possible problems from just leaving the cyst alone? My doctor insists that it should come out, but can't promise this will be the end of it. From everything that I have read, nobody really even knows what the cause is or really how to effectively get rid of them. I would like to just leave my alone and not have the surgery since it isn't bothering me.
