I have had recurring BG infections since 1992. It is now 2006. I have had a marsupialization and a 'removal', neither of which worked. I have had pain, lancing at the doctor's, emergency surgert, anti-biotics and Word Catheters so many times I have lost count. The first time, I went to three different doctors before I could FINALLY find one that could tell me what it was and drain it. I suffered for over a week because my family doctor insisted it was either a rectal cyst or a STD. Finally, my OB/GYN figured it out. I had never even heard of a BG the first time....now I am an expert. All these stories I have been reading reflect my experiences in one way or another. I have learned that anti-biotics don't work, sitz bath's help the pain some and will help it 'come to a head, so it can burst', marsupializations don't work and neither does having it removed. I thought I was the only one that ever had this, but after reading what you all have written, I know that I am not alone. Thank-you for sharing your stories and for Cat for setting up this site. We should point our doctor's here for the real scoop on this condition. Most of them are men and haven't got a clue. I had my latest surgery 5 weeks ago, so I am still recovering. Good luck and God Bless.

Sharon
