Hi
My name is Kay and i am 40 years old. For the past 2 years i have had these abscesses 5 times and a 6th is forming as I type.
my first one occurred when i had no idea that there were even glands 'downstairs'..what can i say...i woke up one day feeling sore and suffering from flu like symptoms. by that afternoon, i could not move as the pain was excruciating - i spent the next 24 hours lying on my stomach trying not to move or breathe...eventually my husband had enough and took me to the doctor who promptly stated that i was acting 'like a baby' - i screamed louder and my husband told the doctor to get the 'bleep' away from me and asked for a female gp. she came, took one look and lanced the area. after antibiotics were given i was sent home with valium. However, the next morning it was worse - finally, by mid morning the abscess burst spewing forth a smelly pus like substance and thus the pain left. Within half an hour i had a salt bath and was feeling fine...The second was not as intense because i knew what was coming and by using heat packs managed to burst it early. the next 2 were dealt with quicker..And now all i can say is i have given birth 5 times and all 5 labours combined was not as excruciating as suffering from one of these abscesses!!!
For all you fellow sufferers, you have my thoughts and sympathies... |
