Response to Yes!!!! I have the same thing!

Yes I have had that thought too, that PCO and Bartholin problems are connected, after reading this very informative site. I have PCO (since I was 18, now Im 28) and have suffered from problems with my bartholin glands for years now. Ive never really had any great pains down there, mostly (huge) swellings and some stabbin pains when I get aroused eg. when having sex. I guess thats because the lubrication cannot get out and gets stuck inside me - thus leaving a swelling..? Anybody know if this is how it works? How do all the lubrication stuff get out eventually?

First I didnt know why I was swullen after sex, and the doctors couldnt figure it out, but finally after years of irritation and frustration, I demanded to have an open appointment so I could go see a gyn straight if it got swullen down there - so finally they accepted that I was not being a hypo, but actually had an infection or some kind of problem with the bartholin gland on my left side. They operated and cut out a LOT of scare tissue and stuff, and I dont know if they removed the gland aswell. I was better for some time, but now I have a coming and going swelling on the other side - my right side. Hurray. And I think I might have vulvadynia too. Its itching and red, and some times burning down there. Anybody else have tried this too?

I havent really got any clue if there is some connection between what I eat (carbohydrates affects PCO) and the swulleness. Ive never made the connection between the PCO and the Bartholin problems before today, but I intend to pay attention to it now, to see if some things might fit together and if I can avoid the 'down there' problems by eg. eating correct, doing sports etc.
