I'm 18, I think one of the youngest here and I'm in UK, we have very different health care system and stuff to people in the USA.
So on November 4th I started getting a pain. I couldn't walk or put the legs together, I had a temperature and felt sick with pain. I stupidly left it till the 6th untill I did anything about it, and by this time it had got infected. So the doctor perscribed me from really strong antibiotics which just made me sick, so I hadn't eaten and slept for 2 days. I was pretty lifeless really. I went back to the doctors that evening and got admitted to the Gynecology ward as an emergency. By this time my abscess had burst. Which was sooooo painfull. So the Gynecologist just squeezed it. Which wasn't so much painful, but uncomfortable. I also had to see the uerologist as mine was at the front of me and around my urethra which meant I also had to pee lots and could have cause bladder problems so they just wanted to double check that I was all okay in tha area... Luckily I didn't have to stay or have surgery. I got sent home with strong painkillers, antibiotics and tablets to stop me being sick and was told to have really hot regular baths and squeeze the rest out. I found this really hard to do as I HATE baths and of course it was so uncomfortable. I went back to the hospital the following wednesday and the gynecologist said that its still there and to continue to have baths and watch out for symptoms of it reoccuring. Its now Sunday, I'm feeling better in myself, still behind on my sleep and not eating properly. I've finished my antibiotics now. I can still feel it there, but I can now walk and sleep on my side with my legs together!
I realised today that I do want to tell my friends and others about it because its something that quite common in young women and had I known this I probably wouldn't have left it so late to go to a doctor. So feel free to use my story on here. And thanks for making this site.
