My experience

I noticed the swelling two days ago after a day out walking around town and then having to go to the Eye Casualty department as my eyes have developed corneal ulcers. I was put on various types of eye drops because of this and spent a long time at the hospital, had to return the next day by which point the pain from the swelling had increased a lot plus it had got worse, again I was unable to go to the doctor as I was at the casualty department for a long time. Then last night I could barely sleep because of the pain and trying to find a comfortable position where my legs didn't touch each other. The gp's surgery is closed this afternoon so I went to the NHS walk in centre instead with a lovely limp as walking is a painful experience. They diagnosed an abcess and prescribed antibiotics, Flucloxacillin to deal with it. As of right now its about the size of an egg and is still extremely painful, here's hoping the swelling goes down in the next few days! Thanks for the website, I wanted to look it up as soon as I got home and it has a lot of useful information, its nice to see it from a personal perspective rather than just a list of symptoms etc on other medical websites. Kepp up the good work and best of luck to anyone else who has suffered with this!
