PC Card/ Orange PC, OSX

Every now and then I check in to see what's new as I have both a 166MHz Apple card and an Orange Micro 550/266 card (both sitting doing nothing). First:

Is there any hope that either card will work? Even older ixTV cards have been made to work by the Darwin people so there is always hope

Has the Apple card's networking "feature" of freezing when transferring large files over a network been fixed?

It is a shame that hardware emulation has gained such an unfortunate reputation. The sw approach is barely acceptable.
