The Panerai family had two businesses; Guido Panerai e figlio, registered at Piazza Galileo Ferraris in Firenze, where classified materials were projected, produced and assembled… Panerai watches included. l’Orologeria Svizzera, registered at Piazza S Giovanni 3 where the family was an authorized agent or national distributor for renowned watches’ brands.
Since 2001, L’Orologeria Svizzera is The Officine Panerai Boutique in Firenze, also considered as a museum. On the ground floor, visitors can view and purchase most current and limited edition Panerai watches. The first floor safely houses pieces of the past, watches, instruments, certificates, patents and photos that are a part of Officine Panerai history.
Many of the Panerai aficionados have travelled to Firenze to visit the Panerai boutique considered as a vault of wonders. Others have read about it, and saw many photos from various Officine Panerai publications.
But, wouldn’t you want to know how this place was before and what was happening in it?
The Officine Panerai boutique first open in 1920.
Below you will find a copy of an original booklet, in this official presentation from the past, I am sure that like me you will be astonished and realized how modernly and advanced the family Panerai were in conducting their businesses. You will find photos of the boutique in 1930’s giving you the ambiance of a fine house of watches in these days and if you are like me, you will then be nostalgic.
Additionally, you will come by some info on others vintage timepieces.
Enjoy!
