A new appointee to the school board, and another dumb down speech on "what to do about disappearing boys in education." Nothing new or enlightning was said, just another happy little person who got their way to the appointed position of choice. If the county wants to make its mark on education it could for starters open up AP courses that have been off limits to all but 12th graders. But with an eagle eye on spending, I don't see this happening in the near future. The level of education has been the same ole thing for to long a time. Fourteen year old kids are enrolling in college and scoring Bs in college level courses. It looks like the county has been trying to get the private church side organized for the last twenty years by not making any changes. My childs public High School looks like hell. It would be nice to see someone on the board of education that didn't believe in letting other states do our work for us.
