I started out playing DII with necromancers. Ever think about how powerful a Clay golem would be with max in IM, golem mastery, and clay golem, since clay is the only golem whose hit points go up without golem mastery? Almost 4000! Imagine my letdown when I reached level 12, put my 1st point into golem mastery, and realized that GM only adds 20% life to level 1 clay golem, no matter how high you pump CG for hit points. ... that variant fustrated me enough to quit the necro for a while.
Lesson: don't try this at home.

Golem Mastery only effects the golems original base life.

If you had asked on this forum or any forum where necromancers play, they could have told you. I must have made at least 10 posts since D2 came out on different boards explaining to people that the clay golem at max CG+GM has less hp than a sklvl 1 IG or FG with 20 in GM.

This brings up my point. Before you are sure you discovered something that everyone else who plays the game must have missed and base your strat around it, ask It will save you a lot of hassle most of the time
