I am looking to create a good, fun variant paladin, my first was a zealot, with concentration, but that got boring after a while. Iv already considered using the smite skills, becoming a hammerdin, but both of these dont appeal to me.
Can anyone help?!?!

You could try the Avenger!
It's a paladin using Vengeance as main attack with Conviction as aura.
Backup aura can be redemption to regain health and mana more quickly.
My avenger is currently in Hell/act3, and he rocks!

I'm currently making a defiant, and it sure is fun not getting hit! For this playing style, however, you probably need a good 1H weapon. You have a lot of choices with combat skills, and defiance is your main aura. It's a slow playing style though, so you need to have an interesting taste in gaming.

You also need to max Holy Shield. It adds a lot of defense and maxed blocking.

Missionaries use Conversion and Thorns as their main skills. You Convert a monster to your side, then slap thorns on him, and watch the enemies fall over =)

Whats fun about this is that not only can you level pretty fast, but you can also try getting other attack skills to support it. I recommend Charge or Zeal.

one thing i like abt this variant is the cool name

this char will use smite as the main attack, using conc/might as the aura and holy shield to increase smite dmg.
