Maintaining greencard status

What is the minimum required period of stay in US to maintain green card status?

My uncle and his family have just been called for inverview to the Consulate office in Chennai(Madras,India). He has several things to take of that cannot be done right away. So he is planning to come to US, get the green card (assuming the interview goes well) and then go back to India.

Legal Permanent Resident status (LPR) is for a person to live and work in the United States. An LPR can only have temproary absence from the United States and should have permanent ties to the United States than any other country. You may contact us for any additional information on this or any other matter.
