My British fiancee has been transferred to Rockland County, NY through his work place [and is awaiting a H1B Visa]. I am a Canadian teacher wishing to join him, and to secure employment in the US. I understand H1B Visas can be arranged for teachers where teacher shortages exist -- however, how would one approach school boards if not already in possession of a proper work visa? Where should I start?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
