Since when is street fighting equivalent to a military operation? This analogy is similar to saying that if you are mugged on a city street you should go hunt him down and kill him, his family, the building where he lives, his government, and a bunch of people that he has never even met and has nothing to do with.
The problem with "punching back" is that its never that simple. Weve had wars for millions of years, and yet they only get bloodier as time evolves. If there were a war that stopped all war forever, then perhaps it would be logical to fight it. Otherwise, its an emotional reaction to a deeper problem.
