Gun Club is a blues/punk hybrid, but much better than that description sounds. Some people don't like the lead singer's voice, but I was hooked on em from the first song. I can send you some of their CD's if you want.
I've been crankin the Sisters of Mercy in my car, and for some reason, their 2 albums "First and Last and Always" and "Floodlands" just absolutely kick ass. And take names.
Money Mark is an amazing DJ. I saw the Beastie Boys live and in one part, the bassist, MCA, went into a kind of duelling-banjos thing with Money Mark, where he would play a Bassline, and then Money Mark would scratch the same rhythm. They did this for awhile seamlessly and it was really cool. He was very fast and show-offy, but, like I always say about my wrinkles, he earned it. |
