Response to Hey Ian!

It was actually a really good show. I wasn't sure if I'd like it at first, but as the concert progressed, it was very impressive. The stage show in the background worked very well, and made the storyline very touching and moving. I thought it succeeded surprisingly well. At the end, they had a very inspirational song where everyone was standing on the stage, moving to the music and facing the audience. It was very cool. The music itself is mostly blues-based, and sometimes repetitive, but it fits the whole thing really well, because it doesn't overwhelm the lyrics and make things too complex. The story has an environmental message, and also addresses the whole issue of children growing up and taking on responsibility, and eventually taking their parent's place in the world. I think Neil has succeeded very well, and his attempt to try something new and different is very cool, especially in this day and age of commercialized, play-it-safe music. Thanks for asking about it.
