from STRANGEWAYS...
Mmmm, my most recent brush with death was 5 years ago...was struck with a 105 degree fever for aprox. 5 days continuous, which I beat down with--mmm, fake aspirin stuff, but as time wore on the pills lost their effectiveness...apart from the fever, I felt fine...but when my face started going numb (!), it seemed prudent to make my way to the nearest medical HG ASAP.
Sure enough, I was dehydrated, and had I not gone into the hospital I probably might not be typing this today.
They stuck me with an iv, and sent me home an hour later. The next day I went to the doctor's and he gave me a prescription which seemed to cast the evil spirits out; I'll never know WHAT it was, since he
lost the results of my blood tests.
I think the worst part was coming home and having to force myself to drink more water than any sane human being would under the most extreme of circumstances...well, I hope it's awhile before I have to go to the hospital again, I still haven't got health insurance.
