Chapter 2

After a brief lunch with Brock filled with laughter and happiness, Charly decided it was time to get down to business as she stood up from the table. They had been talking for nearly two hours and Brock didn’t want it to end as he frowned. Charly smiled as she picked up her tray of food and threw it in the nearby garbage before asking, “What’s that look for?”

“I don’t want this to end. Look, do you wanna go and do something after the show tonight? Dinner maybe?” Brock asked as he rubbed the back of his neck.

Charly bit her bottom lip as she looked into the pale blue orbs of Brock’s and started to answer him when her cell phone started ringing. She looked at him with an apologetic smile and answered it as she turned around, tears coming to her eyes instantly upon hearing his voice. “Hey, baby. No I’m fine. I miss you too. Oh really? Well you tell Michelle that’s really nice of her to do that for her. I’ll be home soon, sweetheart. I love you too. Bye.”

Brock listened intently to the conversation, his blood boiling rapidly as she turned around and said, “On second thought, you probably already have plans with your boyfriend so I’ll just stop wasting my time and be on my way.” He then threw away the food, along with the tray, and started to stalk out of the cafeteria, but Charly stopped him.

“Brock, I don’t have a boyfriend. That was my son. He just wanted to call and see if I was okay.” Charly explained and it was Brock’s turn to feel like an ass as he smiled at her.

“It’s official, I feel like a total dickhead now.” Brock mumbled as he ran a hand through his hair, staring down at this beautiful woman he just had lunch with. ‘If I’m not careful, I could very well fall in love with her.’ He thought and almost went weak in the knees with she giggled. It was the most adorable sound he’d ever heard in his life.

Charly giggled at his choice of words and gently touched his chest before saying, “Don’t feel that way. I can understand why you would think I had someone on the side, but I don’t. That’s just my baby boy callin’ to check up on his momma.”

“What’s his name?” Brock asked as they started walking down the hallway together, oblivious to all the stares from the other Superstars, including Vince McMahon.

Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and smiling proudly, Charly answered, “Marc with a C at the end Jordyn Jones-Predka JR.”

Brock stopped dead in his tracks when he heard that last name and slowly turned around to face her as he asked, “Did I hear you say Predka?”

Charly nodded as she sighed heavily and looked at the doorway of the arena as she replied, “Yeah, Marc Predka is his father. We had a fling back in the day. Marc is seven years old and I think that’s one of the reasons none of my relationships after him worked out. It was just…difficult, especially my last one. He wanted all of my time and treated Marc horribly. When Marc found out about it, he snapped and almost killed my ex-boyfriend and threatened to take our son away from me. I didn’t blame him either because I was in a very dangerous relationship, but luckily, he got us out of it and the rest is history.”

Brock nodded in understanding as he rubbed the back of his neck and said, “I have two little girls named Natalie and Cassie. Natalie is four and Cassie is two. Their absolute angels and I miss them very much.”

“I can feel your pain, Brock. I miss my son more and more everyday I’m gone on the road, but luckily, Marc will be home in a few days to keep him company.” Charly answered, making Brock quirk his eyebrow up at her.

“You live with him?” He asked, making Charly nod as she sighed deeply before running a hand through her hair.

She really didn’t know why she was explaining herself to this man she barely knew, but something inside of her was telling her to do it. Charly had sworn off all men after what Jindrak had done to her, but this was fate’s little curve ball working its magic as usual.

Taking a deep breath, Charly said, “Yeah, but its only temporary until I can find a place for me and JR. Marc doesn’t mind it because he gets to spend time with his little boy and I feel bad that he doesn’t get to see him too often, ya know?”

Brock nodded as he leaned against the wall of the arena building since they were outside this time and said, “I don’t blame you. I wish Denise was as compassionate, but after what I pulled, I honestly can’t blame her. We’re still on good terms though and she let’s me see the girls when I have time off so it’s all good. Do you still love Marc?” Brock asked as he cleared his throat, making Charly smile at him as she nodded her head.

“I’ll always love him, Brock. He gave me my son, the most precious gift of all, but as far as romantically goes, I’d have to say no. He’s got a wonderful girlfriend named Michelle, who is Marc’s nanny, but she takes extremely good care of her so I don’t have a problem with it.” Charly answered as she stared up at the sky, which was starting to slowly dim to darkness, and knew the show would be starting soon.

She glanced down at the watch that was around her wrist and gasped, not believing what time it was, and looked up at Brock before saying, “I really have to go now, but if you’re still up for that dinner date tonight after the show, I’m game.”

Brock grinned as he took her hand that she had extended to shake with and pressed a soft kiss to the top of it before saying, “I look forward to it. Meet me in my dressing room after the show tonight.”

Charly felt shivers run up and down her spine as she slowly pulled her hand out of his and said, “You got it. Good luck tonight, big guy.” She winked at him before walking into the arena building and toward her room to get ready. It was her debut tonight, but she didn’t have a clue whom she was going to be valeting.

Jindrak was boiling with rage on the inside as Vince’s lips curved into a small smile as he looked over at his fellow Superstar, and stated, “I think I have a better idea, Jindrak so have a seat and we’ll get started on it.”

They had stared and watched Brock and Charly talking for the past half an hour and Vince had the most terrific storyline building up in his mind. He smirked at Jindrak and patted him on the shoulder before saying, “Thanks for the idea anyway, but we’re gonna go with mine instead.”

Jindrak growled under his breath as he smiled at Vince and said, “It’s no problem, Vince. Thanks for the chat.” He walked out of the office, livid that the boss hadn’t gone for his plan and sighed as he leaned against the wall.

‘Whatever Vince has in mind better be good or else I’m taking control of this storyline with or without anyone’s consent.’ Jindrak thought as he stormed down the hallway toward his dressing room, not wanting to be seen by any of the Superstars until he made his debut as well.

Later on that night, it was Charly’s turn to walk out. She was wearing a pair of black leather pants that tied up the front along with a black leather halter top that zipped up the front and hugged all her curves nicely. It showed a little bit of cleavage, but nothing compared to what the Divas wore and she was perfectly fine with that. She had Jocelyn, the hairdresser and stylist of the WWE, do her hair in long tendrils that flowed down her back to her waist and hugged around it nicely. Her hair was down of course and she had on black eyeliner with silver eye shadow and a golden, reddish gloss that went with her complexion and outfit perfectly.

She was ready for her debut as she waited by gorilla position, pacing like a caged animal, and gasped when she felt a hand come out and yank her by the hair. She looked up and was appalled to see none other than Mark Jindrak pulling her out of the curtain, his arm securely around her waist, and the pain was evident on her face, but she didn’t dare cry.

Charly didn’t know what was going on as she looked down the ramp way, seeing Brock was pacing in the middle of the ring, and shouted in the microphone with his free hand, “Is this your precious July you’ve been ranting and raving about, Lesnar?” That was her stage name since most of the Divas had one.

Brock growled upon seeing Jindrak holding her by the hair and around the waist, but smirked when she started fighting him and spat back in the microphone, “She doesn’t belong to you, Jindrak! She belongs to ME!”

The storyline was going to consist of July coming on the screen as a kidnapped girlfriend of Brock Lesnar’s that was in the diabolical hands of Mark Jindrak. They had been feuding for quite some time and Vince had a feeling this could very well be the moment this feud needed to really heat it up. It was working too as July started fighting with all her might.

“LET ME GO!!! BROCK!!!” She screeched out as she tried shoving Jindrak away from her, but it wasn’t working.

“Damn, is she a firecracker or what?” Jindrak asked in the microphone and smirked at his own joke. It was the first time in two years that he had been able to put his hands on her and he was taking every second to the fullest.

Brock was getting pissed off as he seen Charly struggling against Jindrak and knew something was behind that. She knew him for real and it wasn’t staged. He started pacing more and then dropped the microphone as he took off from the ring and up the ramp. Jindrak seen him coming though and dragged July backstage with him and in a dark curtain, covering her mouth with his strong hand, and waited until Brock passed before finally releasing her, knowing they were backstage now.

“Get off of me!!” She cried out as she shoved him away from her and stumbled back, glaring fireballs right at her ex boyfriend with her silver eyes, and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. “Don’t ever touch me again. That’s not your right any longer.”

“Oh come on, Charly girl, you know you still want me.” Jindrak stated as he came a little closer to her, smirking when she started backing away, but stopped what he was doing when he seen Brock walking down the hallway.

Brock could tell Jindrak was about to do something to Charly and growled out in a low voice, “The show is over now move along, kid.” His voice was tense and filled with anger as Charly immediately went to him, trembling in his arms as he wrapped her up in his strength.

Jindrak held his hands up, even though deep down inside he wanted to rip Brock’s heart out of his chest for stealing his girl away, and stated, “Sorry man, I’m gone.” He then walked down the hallway, but not before mouthing to Charly, ‘See you later.’

Charly trembled even more as she looked up at Brock and asked, “Can you please get me out of here? I don’t want to be here anymore.”

“Anything you want, Charly. Come on, let’s go and have that dinner.” Brock stated as he lifted her up with ease in his arms and proceeded to carry her trembling body out of the arena, hoping this storyline didn’t effect Charly anymore than what it already had.

Deep down inside, he knew this was the beginning of a natural disaster and he didn’t even know the reason why.
