Response to Hi
Undertaker waited till he heard the shower running before opening the front door. He looked around seeing none of Alysia’s neighbors were around. He slowly started walking towards the sound of children’s laughter. As he neared the end of Alysia’s street he saw a park. He walked over sitting down on a park bench watching the children laugh and play in the sandbox and on the swings.
“I would give anything to be a child again and not have a care in the world,” Death said appearing from the trees behind Taker.
“I can’t even remember being a child,” Taker softly said as Death sat next to him. “Did my father take care of Kane?”
“Yes, he warned both Kane and Edge that they can not change Lita’s fate again,” Death took out his book showing Lita’s entry.
“I will keep reminding both of them of that fact,” Taker ran a hand through his black hair letting out a frustrated sigh. “I need to tell Alysia the real reason I left her. I need your blessing.”
“There is a risk in telling her but if you feel she can handle it then I will not stop you,” Death stared off into space knowing it was definitely time for his daughter to know the truth about her relationship with Taker and the danger it could put her in.
“I know about the risk but its killing me to lie to her. I’m tired of watching her from the shadows. I thought I could stay away from her but its impossible. I love her too much. I want to be part of her life again,” Taker started into Death’s cold eyes.
“I understand. I know all about forbidden love,” Death softly said thinking of Alysia’s mother and how hard it was to be separated from her in the beginning of their relationship. “You may tell my daughter why you truly left. If you need my help, just call to me.”
“Thank you,” Taker nodded. “Please do not tell my father.”
“It’s not my business to tell him. All I ask is you keep your one promise to not be around my daughter during the lunar eclipses.”
“I will never break that promise,” Taker firmly said knowing breaking that promise could mean Alysia’s demise.
“Good, I better leave you are about to have company,” Death could feel his daughter was close by looking for Taker.
“She can still find me in a heartbeat,” Taker smiled feeling Alysia was walking the same path he had.
“That is because she is your soul mate. Take care of my daughter and summon me if you need to,” Death patted Taker’s shoulder before walking away. Moments after he left Alysia appeared on the other side of the playground giving Taker a confused stare.
“What are you doing here? I thought children give you a headache,” she asked as she approached him.
“They sometimes do. Other times they remind me that there is still good in this cursed world,” he patted the bench next to him.
“Children are definitely a blessing. I love being around them,” Alysia smiled watching the children play tag as she sat down.
“Do you ever wish you had a child?”
“Mark, what’s wrong? Why would you ask me that?” Alysia was stunned by his question.
“I just spoke to your father,” he turned staring into her eyes. “He agreed that I can tell you the truth about why I really left.”
“What does that have to do with having a child?” Alysia asked seeing all the turmoil in his green eyes.
“It’s all part of the truth. I left because you and I can have a child together. That might sound like a wonderful thing but not in our case,” Taker put his arm around her hoping to keep her calm.
“What the hell are you talking about? We can’t have a child. It would take a miracle like my father and mother had with the council granting him one night as a human.”
“We don’t need their interference. All we need is our love and a lunar eclipse,” he felt his throat tighten as he knew she about to ask the question he feared most.
“So you left me because we could have a baby? You didn’t want a baby with me,” she whispered searching his eyes for the answers.
“I would love to have a child with you but in our case a child wouldn’t be a blessing it would mean your death,” Taker spoke instantly seeing her confusion.
“You better explain now,” she couldn’t help shaking slightly.
“I’ll start from the beginning and how I found out. You and I had been together for awhile when your father and mine came to plead with me to leave you. You can just imagine the blow up fight that caused. I kept telling them no till your father finally broke down and revealed that there was a price for the council allowing him to have a child. If you ever met your true love, you would be granted with the same right your father received to have a child. You can conceive my child when there is a lunar eclipse. I went to the council,” he pressed his finger to her lips seeing she wanted to say something. “Please let me finish then you can say whatever you like. The catch is on our child’s 20th birthday you will lose your immortality. Our child will become immortal and take over your duties. The moment that happens there is an endless list of enemies that will destroy you. I went to the council and they confirmed everything your father said. They also confirmed I’m your soul mate. I’m the only one you can have a child with. That is why I left you. I couldn’t take the chance of that ever happening. We discussed me staying away from you during the eclipses but I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do that especially if you asked me to stay or I sensed you were in danger. I swore when I left you in Paris that I would stay away from you for eternity. As you can see I broke my promise, the moment I felt you were in danger from Kane. I lied to you about a vampire not being able to love. I do love you enough to stay away from you to keep you alive,” Taker’s voice cracked as a blood red tear ran down his cheek.
“You should have told me what was going on. We could have found a way to stay together,” Alysia reached out wiping the tear from his cheek. “I’m not afraid of some curse the council came up with. Maybe its worth losing my immortality to have a child.”
“Don’t you dare say that,” Taker gently grabbed her chin. “I will not lose you for any reason.”
“Mark, I’m not saying I’m going to tie you up on the next lunar eclipse and have my way with you,” she softly said making him blush. “All I meant is it is something for us to think about and discuss.”
“Feel free to have your way with me anytime except during the eclipse,” Taker caressed her cheek. “Can you ever forgive me for lying to you?”
“Maybe.”
“Do you still love me?” Taker leaned closer.
“I never stopped loving you,” Alysia blushed as he kissed her softly.
“I’ll find a way to earn your forgiveness. I swear,” he whispered against her lips.
“I’m sure you will. Does that mean you really are going to stay with me?”
“Yes, I plan to stay except during the eclipses I will go faraway to keep you safe,” he kissed her again.
“I think we should head back home. I want to rest before I speak with my Father,” she slowly broke away from his embrace standing up.
“What do you want talk to your Father about?” Taker asked taking her hand as the walked back home.
“I want to know why he never told me about this curse or whatever he wants to call it. For that matter why didn’t my mom tell me,” Alysia planned to confront both of them.
“I want to be there when you talk to them,” Taker squeezed her hand gently knowing she was going to need his support.
