I am 19 months post PPCM

by

I had severe preeclamsia and delivered at 35 weeks. Because the PPCM and preeclamsia have the exact same symptoms mine went un noticed until after my emergency c-section.
They couldn't figure out why my symptoms were getting worse, edema(I gained 35 pounds of water in 3 weeks) my kidneys were shutting down...etc. Oh and the breathing thing..my gosh, I pleaded with GOD toi spare my life. I really thought i was dying. FINALLY after a week in the hospital I wsa moved up to the cardiac floor...they found the problem, my EF rate was 20ish%. I was put on meds and told if they didn't work, I would need a heart transplant. Boy was I in denial! I just wanted to nurse and hold my baby.
Now I just had my ECHO this week. MY EF rate is 45%. That is 19 months after the inital diagnosis.
I am still on 5 meds a day, but it does become manageable! Please e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you!! We are one in 10,000 you know!!! HAHA
