I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy with CHF in Sept 2000. I went to Cleveland Clinic in January 200l. I take 50 mg of Coreg daily-40 mg of Zestril-Lasix as needed (20mg)& Zocor for cholesterol . I was less than 20% when first diagnosed now stable at 50%. Do you walk & exercise? A low sodium diet & cut back on fat intake is also recommended for me. I am walking every day (weather permitting). At first I could not walk a full city block & now up to 2 miles. My dr says the walking helps to strengthen the heart. He also says 30-35% a normal life can be lived. You just have to not over do what your body can stand. You will know your limits by the way you feel. As for the depression-this is such a tramatic shock to your system. Possibly talk to your dr about a mild anti-depression medicine. Good luck & hang tough
