Cheryl, Thanks so much for responding! I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy on March 28th 2002. Since then, I have gone through so many tests at Loyola University in Maywood IL. Yesterday, I was told that my ejection fraction was 30%. (muga showed 37%, cath showed 30%) I am taking coreg 25mg a day, and zestoril. I am also on a low sodium diet and absoulutely no alcohol. I feel lucky that they diagnosed me because I could have gone on with life for a long time and not have even known. I am so happy for you that your ejection fraction went up to 50%! My doctor told me that once a person's ejection fraction gets up to 50-60%, he has never seen it go back down. I am hoping and praying that in August I will see some better results with my ejection fraction. In August I will have another echo and a CPX stress test. Did you have a stress test? It's so nice to keep in touch with someone with the same problem as me. I'll talk to you again soon!
