Almost two years ago I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital because I could not breath. My husband was told that I might not make it through the night. I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and told to be evaluated for a transplant. My EF was 15% and my heart was extremely enlarged. I was in the CCU for five days. Well, to make a long story short, I am still taking Coreg along with Prinzide. I walk three miles a day on a treadmill going at a speed of 4.2 and at a 12% grade. Two months after being diagnosed my EF was 65%. The doctor has no idea why I recovered; he is afraid to stop my last two medications (I started out with 7) as we do not know what will happen ! I am thinking about a hiking vacation in Scotland. I enjoy every day of my life and look forward to a healthy future.
